Apollo’s Labelling Overhaul
A collaborative cloud transformation delivered with Bar Code Data.
Apollo has taken another significant step forward in its digital transformation journey with the modernisation of its global labelling operations, delivered in partnership with Bar Code Data. The project replaces ageing, manually intensive systems with a unified cloud‑based platform that enhances accuracy, efficiency and sustainability across our manufacturing environment.
Apollo’s labelling processes have, for years, been supported by two legacy systems that had grown increasingly complex to maintain. With more than 5,000 templates, paper‑based approvals and inconsistent print quality across sites, the process demanded specialist knowledge and created operational risk. As production volumes grew, so did the need for a modern, scalable solution.
Working closely with teams across IT, engineering, production and quality, Bar Code Data was enlisted to help, designing and implementing a complete Label Management System built on Loftware Cloud. This new platform centralises template control, digitises approvals and integrates seamlessly with Apollo’s manufacturing workflows – including automated End‑of‑Line Testing, which ensures that labels are only generated for products that pass compliance checks.
The impact has been immediate and measurable.
Template volumes have been reduced from more than 5,000 to fewer than 800 through dynamic labelling. Automated workflows have eliminated manual intervention, improved print consistency and strengthened traceability. The shift to cloud architecture has also significantly reduced label waste, supporting Apollo’s environmental commitments while improving cost control.
This transformation not only streamlines day‑to‑day operations but also provides a future‑ready foundation for continued growth and scalability.
