This project saw the comprehensive installation of Apollo's Soteria and Discovery Base Sounders to replace the old system at Alarm Communications Ltd (ACL) Frimley HQ.
ACL’s office move demanded a fire system that could overcome layout changes and tricky glass partitions. Apollo’s Soteria detectors with new sounder bases delivered clear audibility, rapid reconfiguration, and a sleek solution ACL now proudly showcases to clients.
The Challenge
When ACL relocated to new offices, the existing fire detection system needed full replacement. On the ground floor, major layout changes and new partitioning meant additional detection points and a revised sounder arrangement were required. On the first floor, extensive glass partitioning created the familiar challenge of achieving consistent sounder coverage and maintaining audibility in enclosed spaces.
ACL also maintains a strict policy of testing products thoroughly before recommending them to clients. In this case, the company wanted a solution that could be trialled in a live, long-term environment to prove reliability and demonstrate real-world performance.
The Solution
Apollo provided Soteria detector heads with the new Discovery Base Sounders. Compared to previous generations, the new sounder bases offer significantly improved adjustability, enabling devices to be redistributed or reconfigured in minutes with minimal disruption to the end user.
Installing the solution across ACL’s offices allowed it to serve as both a reliable fire detection system and a live demonstration environment for clients and engineers. The equipment was also integrated into ACL’s Advanced MxPro and Apollo Soteria training board and fault-finding rig, enabling hands-on training and showcasing the system’s adaptability and benefits.
